William James: His Humanism and Philosophy of Religion

Humanism is one of the key concepts history thought. It has been employed for different purposes in eras. There are various types it, ranging from rhetorical humanism Sophists to Christian middle ages, and literary Renaissance Comte. In other words, there no monolithic humanism. One problems encountered within this diversity approaches relationship between religion. Some humanistic interpretations foreground an anti-religious approach. Is it necessary regard as anti-religious? James’s provides important data answer question. His humanism, at end which a radical empiricist epistemology while lies anti-theistic paradigm, does not exclude religious belief. Rather, both carefully preserves practically productive aspects religion develops philosophy that puts human being center.
